Charles Dickens is one of the brightest representatives of 19th century. His family was poor and nobody helped him to become famous and rich. From my point of view he is a self-made person, so he deserves the greatest respect because of his good qualities and achievements. Perhaps,if he lived in our world he wouldn`t become so famous as he is now, that`s why only God decides when and how one is supposed to live and create. I believe that every individual has certain mission and destiation.
What would Dickens write about if he lived nowadays?Well,it is very difficult to imagine such a situation ,but i will try to fantasize. Let`s imagine that someone invented a time-machine and Charles decided to travel to the future. So he appeared in 21st century.It would be a shock for him. He would be surprised at everything round him,for instance,at modern buildings, machinery, technologies. He would understand that everything has changed and nothing can remain the same. He would decide to stay for a while in our world and investigate everything,write about people, their life,thoughts,ideals,ideology. Some time would pass and Dickens would realise that actually nothing has changed in general.He would communicate with people, society and his conclusion would be that people`s relations,attitude and problems are the same. So in my opinion he would write about the subjects that he knew well,such as the problem of the poor and the wealthy, the difficulties in family and in friendship. I think he would write about the same problems that his heroes had: the problems between parents and children, married couples, people and society and laws.He would write about love,betrayal,devotion,contradictions of personality`s character,the fight between "what is good and what is bad",that every generation passed through.That`s why I think Dickens`s heroes didn`t die,they are always alive and they live among us,so we can meet and communicate with them in our everyday life.
