What Would Dickens Write Today?
Charles John Huffman Dickens is one of the most widely known and popular novelists of England and of the entire world. Many are drawn to Dickens' life and experiences. His extensive and rich vocabulary, realism and comedy makes you want to read his books more then once. But what would Dickens write today? As we said Dickens was a character of realism and he would look at the world with open eyes. There is much he could have written about, much has happened since his times. The world has become hungry, poor, there are homeless people on the street trying to survive life's strikes and cruelties, orphans-the most written theme of his novels, they are looking for a caring family who will love them dearly. And all of these subjects could have led to many inspiring novels.
Social networking has also become a serious problem in our generation and not only the new generation, but adults also. It has become an addiction to many people in the world. If Dickens were to be in our time he would have written about this subject in a novel and maybe in the internet so that all may see it. He would teach us about the beauties of life and what it has to offer, the joys and wonders of the world, traveling, visiting museums ,art gallery's and many other things that are new or historical. But instead some people choose to be in their home and virtually interact with their friends.
As Dickens was successful in his time, I am sure that nothing would change up until now and his novels would be as popular as they were back then.
Kids nowadays are overly drawn to cartoons and all of this comes from lack of interest towards literature. He would write many novels for and about kids so they could be more interested in life, reality and humanity and those novels would teach kids valuable lessons.
And in my opinion from all of his well written and glorious novels people would start to slowly change, become happier and care for one another. But Charles Dickens can’t make all of those changes happen; people have to want to become better.
