''I am a simple man coming from 19th century. It was very hard time for all people, it was the century of capitalism. I saw the difficulties of that time and see difficulties of now day. I see many children who are homeless, who are exploited, who are unhappy and abandoned and children who have wealthy life but need love and attention of their parents. Now people are capable to do everything. It seems like injustice and grief are going to stay in this world forever. People lie each other by ignoring many human values.
I hoped that people would become fair and honest not only to other people but also to themselves, I hoped they would become more merciful. But what I see today? There are a lot of discoveries which make the life easier, I see people who have a new way of thinking but if we open our eyes widely we’ll see ignorance, evil and injustice still reigning the world. In my books I tried to gather attention with the help of comedy, I derided, I sneered the airless atmosphere existing among people. I tried to give hope, belief, good future…
Yes, I see high-rise buildings, various technologies. I see dandy women who wear luxurious clothes… We don't have all that! But the technology has no heart; it has no soul, human values are more important in this world. I see people, who do not pay attention to this thing, money is more important. Look around, please, attentively! …Do you see how many children,abandoned mothers need your help and your attention? They are waiting for your strong and healthy hand. They are waiting for a chance to live their life as you live.
People are uneducated, deceitful. Where is the reading? Why people forget that with the help of it children become more educated? Now people live unconsciously, they don't pay attention to real and moral values despite these values bring them to real and conscious life.
I see few people who are hard –workers. Who earn their everyday bread by working from early morning till late evening? They are surviving… But I see also people who are hanger-on, yes I see them and they are not few… It is the same as it was in my times. The only difference is that former rich people were robbing baldly, now the way of robbing has changed.
Although I have mentioned in my will that I don’t want to have a statue but you did it, however, I am thankful for appreciating my works. The only thing I ask for is to understand the moral of my works. So, please, be more merciful, honest, read, read a lot, read many books as literature is fighting for injustice…Literature provides positive thinking…''
